Amid the global coronavirus crisis, the thought of booking a vacation doesn’t seem particularly tempting right now. However, looking at it from a different perspective, it might be the perfect time to book.

In this blog post, we would like to inform you about the measures Tubber has taken to ensure the safe booking of a sailing holiday, without significant financial consequences.

Even in countries or regions where the virus is now actively spreading, the risk of infection remains statistically low. The risk is even smaller with a sailing holiday at sea. You and your family are far away from mass tourism, such as a cruise holiday or in an all-inclusive hotel.

Coronavirus, or COVID-19

The vast majority of patients have mild (flu-like) complaints. As with the common flu, the symptoms are mild in the vast majority of cases. That is with exceptions for the elderly and those with pre-existing lung or heart disease, or a suppressed immune system. Nevertheless, we advise you during your trip and the sailing holiday itself to avoid direct contact with people who have a cough or fever and to keep good (hand) hygiene.

Flexible cancellation and postponement conditions

Tubber is in daily contact with its partners, boat owners and rental companies to keep up to date with the latest Corona virus updates in all areas of our sailing holidays. For almost all destinations, there are now flexible cancellation and delay conditions. These terms apply to all bookings confirmed after March 12, 2020.

The current discounts that are given (up to 60%!) create a very attractive opportunity for you to book your holiday!

All bookings from March 12, 2020

All bookings confirmed after March 12, 2020, at a destination where coronavirus cases are detected, have the following options to change their Tubber sailing holiday reservation. Every request for the discounts will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis in agreement with our partners.

  1. Postponement of your sailing holiday according to the availability of the booking. In this case, you can often move the booking to a later time this year;
  2. Reduction of the deposit to 10% instead of 30% or 50%;
  3. Flexible cancellation policy in case of official government restrictions announced in the host country or country of origin (in consultation with the boat owner).

Flights

We advise you to take a direct flight. This way, you do not face the risk of not being able to travel further halfway to your final destination.

Fortunately, the virus seems to be on the decline in China. But it is still causing unrest all over the world. Some predict that the virus will soon disappear with the arrival of good weather and we hope for the best. Until then, we are happy to help reassure you and answer the most important questions.
Tubber will continue to monitor the situation closely and will inform the affected guests as soon as possible about all essential information.

Tubber will not let its customers down! We are here to help you and support you on your sailing holiday.
