Dutch boat rental platform Tubber has raised a follow-up investment to help achieve its further ambitions for international growth. With this new investment, the Groningen-based scale-up aims to further expand its market share in countries where it already operates. In addition, Tubber will expand to other countries, including the UK, Germany and Scandinavia.
Experienced investor Marnix van der Ploeg joins Tubber
Marnix van der Ploeg joins as a new investor. With a wealth of experience in Finance and Control, van der Ploeg was also instrumental in Booking.com’s international success in more than 50 different markets: “Tubber has everything it needs to grow rapidly internationally. As with Booking.com at the time, scalability and ambition are central to all aspects of Tubber’s business. And those two elements together are the ideal combination for rapid growth,” said the brand-new investor in Tubber.
Follow-up investments made by Move Fast Ventures and G-Force Capital
In addition to Van der Ploeg, Move Fast Ventures and G-Force Capital have also made follow-up investments. The two investment parties were already on board for some time and are again involved in this latest investment round. Fund manager of G-Force Capital Niek Huizenga: “The combination of a strong team and experienced investors are going to ensure that Tubber becomes the best platform for boat rentals and unforgettable sailing holidays.”

Tubber has been active since 2010. Its innovative booking system makes sure that more than 16,000 boats can be booked in over 750 destinations worldwide. The focus is mainly around the Mediterranean, but boats are also available in the Caribbean, for example.
