Do you remember when you were a kid and was playing around with your friends with a scarf covering one of your eyes pretending to be pirate, looking for hidden treasures? Childhood is the time of thriving imagination and sunny days filled with happiness. Sometimes we even carry some of that fascination with the unknown and the adventurous into our adult lives. That is why so many of us love to travel, explore, and discover this world of endless possibilities. The same goes for sailing. It can be both for escaping our busy day to day life and getting that well-deserved relaxation and for embarking on adventures like we dreamed of when we were young.

Well, this time we have a real threat for the kid in you because this one-week sailing itinerary will let us explore no other but Seychelles. A place where pirates and explorers have left their mark. A world of hidden treasure not only in the most monetary meaning but also in terms of nature and beauty. Known as the “the most beautiful islands on Earth”, Seychelles will take you on a journey where you can fully immerse yourself and have the sailing holiday of a lifetime. All that’s left for you to do is keep reading, pack that childlike adventurous spirit and hop on board!

Day One – Mahé to Praslin

Sailing holiday in Seychelles

The first day of this sailing itinerary around the Seychelles begins from the island of Mahé. Getting there is easy with the well-developed international airport there. From now on you will have to decide whether you want to get a connecting 15-minute flight to Praslin and get your boat there or book a boat from Mahé and sail towards our first destination. It’s all up to you. We have amazing yachts and catamarans at both locations.

We advise you to focus on Praslin at the beginning of the holiday and explore Mahé on your way back. So let’s head on to the second largest island and explore it. Praslin treasures two UNESCO World Heritage Sites. One of which being Vallée de Mai with the palm trees famous for growing the rare coco de mer nuts. These exotic plants were believed to be from the Garden of Eden by the locals. Furthermore, make sure to enjoy the fantastic beaches, such as Anse Lazio and Anse Georgette that many people claim to be two of the most beautiful in the world.

Day Two: Praslin to La Digue – 6 NM

seychelles day two la digue

After that thrilling beginning of the Seychelles sailing itinerary, it is time we visit the smallest Seychelles Island – La Digue. With a population of only 2,000 people, this place is full of authenticity and that classic Caribbean atmosphere. Here you can take the whole day to enjoy that unique untouched nature. And don’t forget this is the home of more than 250 species of birds. Also, the heavenly flora and white sanded beaches will make you feel like you really are in the Garden of Eden. And you know what that means, right? Serenity, relaxation, and refreshing drinks in the sky blue water.

Day Three: From La Digue to Curieuse – 7 NM

seychelles day three Curieuse

Curieuse, also known as “the Red Island,” is our third destination. Named after the red soil found on the island, this place will show you a sight like no other. The combination of the red earth with the lush green vegetation and the stunning contrast with the blue water is breathtaking. On Curieuse you can see Aldabra tortoises, takamaka trees, hawksbill, green sea turtles and so much more. This will be the day of endless exploration because trust us you won’t be able to get enough of this place.

Day Four: Curieuse to Saint Pierre – 6 NM

seychelles day four Saint Pierre

Day four will bring us to the small islet of Saint Pierre. Just a short sail away, this island is uninhabited and perfect for snorkeling. Its raised reef, clear blue waters, and an abundance of sea life will surely impress you. It’s another destination ideal just to unwind and enjoy nature and its silence. Because it’s so close, you can also just return to Curieuse at the end of the day.

Day Five: Curieuse to Aride – 12 NM

seychelles day five aride

Another day, another fantastic destination. On Day Five, you can sail to the magical island of Aride. The aroma of flowers, herbs, and untouched nature will be the first thing to welcome you. And not just you, because many beautiful colorful birds flock to this place because of how stunning and aromatized the air is. Aride is also a nature reserve so you will have to return to Curieuse to moor overnight, but not before you are done exploring. In our opinion, if you haven’t seen Aride, you haven’t seen the Seychelles, so take your time and enjoy.

Day Six: From Curieuse to Cousin – 15 NM

seychelles day six cousin

This dream sailing itinerary around the Seychelles is almost coming to an end but not before you have seen the world’s first internationally-owned protected area. Cousin Island is the Indian Ocean’s first “sea and island reserve”. This place is a crucial ornithological site that used to be a coconut plantation. Nowadays, it has been transformed into a thriving ecological paradise in which you will fall in love. The best place to moor here is the Sainte Anne Bay. We hope you enjoy the evening under one of the brightest star-filled skies you will ever see.

Day Seven – Cousin to Praslin

seychelles day seven praslin

Day Seven is the final day, which means it’s time you sail back to Praslin (Or Mahé, depending on where you chartered your yacht from) and wrap up this fantastic sailing experience. Now that you have completed the Seychelles Sailing Itinerary, you can take the time you have left and explore the island. There is plenty to do, so enjoy it before you fly back home with a thoroughly relaxed spirit and body.
